oh cinco de mayo, you might be my new favorite holiday. last night a few friends helped us celebrate this holiday that we have no real reason to celebrate other than it is festive, fun and a great reason to eat mexican food and hit something really hard with a stick. so good. the evening began with fine dining at the taco time located on state street and 8th south, also known as the "classy" taco time. if you have not been there, i recommend a visit if for nothing else but the ambiance. again, so good. "would you say i have a plethora of pinatas?" nope, just one, but turns out that is all you need to have more fun than you can shake a stick at....literally. on to the park where we strung our pinata up over a tree. the game: strap on some ski goggles with the black fabric stuffed inside, put your head down on the stick and spin until you can't stand up, then while trying to keep your balance and fight the gravity of the hill you are on, hit the two foot tall pinata while one of your friends, on the other end of the rope, kindly pulls it away from you. seriously, it has been a very long time since i have laughed that hard. maybe since last year, same day. after someone had shown the pinata who was boss (bromley i think,) we headed back to our place for some more fun, amigos style. thank you mr. martin, chase and short for the classic laughs, one right after the other and thank you to my dear husband and friends for the best cinco de mayo ever. GRACIAS!
