must go...

i have recently identified some habits of speech that i would like to address and eliminate. the following list is of things in my vocabulary that simply must go:

01. thinkin', doin', goin' : i'm bringing back the g
02. any real profanity : sorry, but hell must not go, at least not yet
03. brigh'on, moun'ain : must find the t and use it
04. yeah : use yes
05. what? : instead say pardon me or excuse me when i didn't hear someone the first time
06. you guys : someone once shared their dislike for this and now it bothers me too
07. ending a statement or question with a preposition, the list is longer than you think

i am sure there are more offenders and i am certain i will falter, but for now, i think this is a good place to start taking out the trash.

Okay, I LOVE THIS POST!

My oldest son is named Brighton. I am a California girl... so not after the ski resort... but yes, it does happen to be the same name. In California everyone says it correctly... but family and friends from other states ... often call him Brigh'on. It kills me. T, T, T!!!! Makes me crazy!

Also, can we please eliminate all use of the word Stinkin' unless, of courses, something actually STINKS! It is this years version of the lates 80's use of the word "fetchin" and it drives me insane!

Please no more "stinkin' cute, stinkin' heavy, stinkin' anything! Argh!!

Love you Marcie... and miss you!

I'm all about g's and t's and everything else on this list. One additional thing that must go for me...like. I hate how often I use this word. Today I will focus on not saying "like." "Such as," or "for example" sound so much better.
