left work a little early on friday and found myself at the museum. it had been too long and i had forgotten what it is like to feel inspired. i miss art. i miss making it, i miss being immersed in it. there was a faculty exhibit that i wanted to catch before it was gone. it was interesting to see how some had moved on to new ideas and techniques and how others seemed to be doing the same thing. i'm not challenging or criticizing, just observing. i wandered over to the art building where i found students burried in final projects and walked through the student show. some really great things are coming out of there. it made me proud and, again, it made me miss it. need to find a creative outlet...an ideas?
*the piece above is one of my favorites by one of my favorites. breathless by robert arneson. he did mostly self portraits. they started humorous and whimsical and while battling cancer became darker and profound. this one is hiding in the south-east corner on the second floor of the umfa. go visit him. i don't think many people know he is there and i bet he gets lonely.

I love being in a museum and feeling like the beauty and colors are making my brain wake up.
I went to the National Portrait Museum last week, which has the original Obama Post poster...so much better than the remakes. I couldn't help but to stare at it for a couple of minutes.
