my friends and i began this beloved journey a few evenings ago and we will continue to avonlea tonight. it was almost like i had forgotton how much i loved this. anne is SO dramatic and over the top, but it makes her that much more endearing. one friend was surprised that this was my cup of tea (i'm not particularly the girly, old world type and cannot handle pride and prejudice,) but i love me some anne and it is probably to blame mostly on nostalgia. if you have never seen it or it has been too long, i urge you to settle in with cozy blanket and some delicious treats. it is in no way, shape or form short, but it is still so good.
some favorite nuggets include:
"I think I would probably come to the conclusion that I'd like it for a while... but in the end, I'd still prefer the sound of the wind in the firs across the brook more than the tinkling of crystal."
"I know I chatter on far too much... but if you only knew how many things I want to say and don't. Give me SOME credit."
"Well, it really isn't worth telling, Mrs. Cadbury... but if you let me tell you what I IMAGINE about myself you'd find it a lot more interesting."
"My life is a perfect graveyard of buried hopes. That's a sentence I read once and I say it over to comfort myself in these times that try the soul."
seriously, it is pure gold. treat yourself.

Marce,
Anne of Green Gables is my all time favorite book/movie. I watch it everytime PBS does a fund drive.

I've always remembered this was your favorite. I saw it at Costco the other day and thought "Marcie would love that, in fact, she probably already owns it."
I just love, love, love this series!!!
My Mom, sisters and I have seen them a thousand times and they never get boring. Marilla and Mathew... now I am going to have to pull them out for a good long cryfest! Why did Mathew have to die? That part breaks my heart everytime!
Love it love it love. Especially the quote about chattering...that is my life to a tee!
Marcie,
I have had the best time reading your blog! I love being your cousin and I wish we saw each other more!
You are a darling girl... and I hope someday to meet your husband.
Love you much!

Oh, I love having Gilbert Blythe visit atleast once a year. About 5 years ago, my mom and sister and I went to Prince Edward Island and saw where this series takes place. P.E.I is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been.
uh, yeah... So exactly WHEN are we going to finish this little miracle? I'm anxiously waiting. I NEED Gil and Anne to finally get together!
